Post Baccalaureate Program Curriculum

The Post-Baccalaureate program is designed to address the needs of a wide range of students: those with an undergraduate degree; those with substantial studio experience who need an additional year of studio work to develop a strong, cohesive and competitive body of work; students requiring a year of intensive studio work prior to beginning a graduate level program; and individuals with a degree in art who wish to pursue work in a different medium.

The program combines an advanced academic program of foundation and techniques with an upper-level independent studio/critique system, and seminars designed to develop personal vision through exposure to trends in contemporary art issues.

Curriculum Requirements

This is a full-time program that requires approximately 45 hours of work per week. All course work as outlined, is required of all students in the program.  In addition, for every hour spent in the classroom there is a required three hours of studio time.

* In consultation with the Post-Baccalaureate faculty advisors, students may request or be advised to take coursework in the Certificate program, for credit, to develop particular skills.  In these cases, the Studio/Critique requirement will carry variable credit, to accommodate the additional class(es).  Variable credit does not, however, effect the amount of time each student spends with critics.
