Cooperative Studio Program with area High Schools This program began ten years ago as a model program with one participating high school. It has since grown to include twelve public, parochial and charter schools, 100 students and six graduate teaching assistants with multiple levels of drawing and painting instruction. Each spring, an exhibition of work by the students is exhibited for one week in the Student Gallery at 128 N. Broad Street. The primary objective of the Cooperative Studio Program is to reach out to students from diverse ethnic, racial, economic and cultural backgrounds, and to provide access, support, enrichment and resources for teenage students. As the program grows and as city schools have fewer resources for art programs, outreach to disadvantaged students and schools becomes increasingly important.
