Course Curriculum

The Pennsylvania Academy offers a variety of course programs to suit individual artistic goals. Each of the Academy's programs are carefully designed to integrate studio instruction with the historic and contemporary works exhibited in the museum, providing students with a unique and unparalleled experience. The Academy BFA, our newest program, integrates our new liberal arts curriculum with 3 years of our famous studio program.  Whether you are seeking our historic 4-year Certificate, the Academy BFA, the Coordinated BFA with the University of Pennsylvania, the MFA, or our Post Baccalaureate for Developing Artists, the Academy offers the highest quality art education.

Certificate Program

The four-year Certificate program, the most historic of the academic programs at the Pennsylvania Academy, emphasizes excellence in studio art-making skills and abilities. Drawing is a requirement at all levels of the curriculum. more >

BFA Programs

The Academy may well be the only art school in the country with two BFA programs in the fine arts.  The Academy BFA and the Coordinated BFA with the University of Pennsylvania.  more >

Post Baccalaureate Program

This individually designed program of study is for those who wish to develop their artistic skills, further their formal education, and be competitive for admission to graduate degree programs. more >

MFA Program

The Master of Fine Arts program is an intensive, two-year studio art-making experience that involves daily interaction with an outstanding faculty of resident and visiting artists. more >
