The Cooperative Studio Program provides Philadelphia high school students access to studio art training at the Pennsylvania Academy. Students in this model program follow this honors level curriculum through foundation drawing, painting and life drawing in the great traditions of American art set by Thomas Eakins in the Academy's historic studios. Emphasis is on portfolio building, skill development and artistic growth. Courses are yearlong and take place weekdays after school (3 - 5:30 p.m.). Tuition is free, paid for by education grants. Interested art teachers, parents or students should contact Al Gury, Coordinator of the Cooperative High School Program, at 215-972-7600. |
