Facilities and Services of the Archives:

Researchers are welcome, by appointment only, on weekdays between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Please contact the archivist to discuss your research needs and to make an appointment. Written or emailed inquiries about artists, works of art, or the history of the Academy are answered as promptly as possible. Please include all types of contact information when sending a query.

Cheryl Leibold has been the Academy's archivist since 1986. She is the co-author of two books on Thomas Eakins, and has published articles on many topics relating to Academy history. Contact the archives at archives@pafa.org.

To reproduce a work of art from the Academy collection, send a fax to the Rights and Reproductions Dept. (fax 215-567-2429), with all relevant information about the projected use or publication.
