CE ANNUAL JURIED STUDENT EXHIBITION: APRIL 9 - 29, 2010 All Continuing Education students enrolled in classes during the Summer 2009, Fall 2009 or Spring 2010 semesters are eligible to submit artwork for exhibition in PAFA's Gallery 128! Submission dates: April 3 - 5, 2010. Download complete submission guidelines and entry form here.

Master Class with Odd Nerdrum: The Secrets Behind the Painting

April 23, 24 & 25, 2010

Tuition: $1200

Don't miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be electrified, challenged and inspired by contemporary master realist painter, Odd Nerdrum. This intense three-day experience combines painting demonstrations, studio work, lecture, question and answer and a stage play.

Odd Nerdrum was born in Norway and studied traditional classical painting at The Art Academy in Oslo, Norway and later with Joseph Beuys. Guided by the Old Masters, Nerdrum's paintings plumb the depths of the human soul, exploring loneliness, fear, brutality, hatred, sexuality, birth, death and degradation with unparalleled technical virtuosity.

Nerdrum’s work is in the permanent collections of many major museums including The Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington, DC, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, NY and The National Gallery, Oslo, Norway. He is represented by Forum Gallery, New York.

Master Class with Stuart Shils: The Perceptual Moment

April 16, 17 & 18, 2010

Immerse yourself in a three-day intensive outdoor painting class with critically acclaimed painter, Stuart Shils. Working alla prima, Shils will demonstrate strategies for seeing nature with more perceptual discrimination and help you master your sense of color - on your palette and in your painting.
