Advanced Curriculum for Educators (ACE) Program

The ACE program is designed to provide educators with an opportunity to advance their personal artwork, refresh their teaching amidst a community of like-minded individuals at the graduate level.  The graduate level assumes that the student has mastered the art fundamentals of drawing, design, techniques, color, form, and materials, possess a knowledge of art history and theory, and is ready to apply these principles to the process of developing their unique artistic voice.

ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS

  • K-12 educator
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Portfolio review 

STRUCTURE 10 elective CE studio courses for graduate credit

  • Additional electives permitted
  • Includes Summer Academy for Teachers program
  • Certificate awarded upon Completion
  • No time limit 

ELIGILBLE COURSES

  • Summer Academy for Teachers
  • Six-week Studio-Critique Program
  • Continuing Education studio courses 

COURSE REQUIREMENTS

  • Signed agreement with instructor, Director of Continuing Education Programs and Graduate Programs Chair specifying the additional work for graduate credit
  • 3 – 5 out of class independent projects
  • 3 – 4 individual critiques
  • Research paper 

TUITION

  • $450 per credit, $675 for 1.5 credits
  • 42 – 45 hours course + outside work for 1.50 credits @ 14 – 16 hours course work per credit + 14 – 16 hours out of class work
