Teacher Workshops

Workshops for art and classroom teachers, grades K-12, wlil help you to effectively prepare your students for their visit. Through gallery demonstrations, exhibition tours, lectures, group discussions, and hands-on activities, strategies are learned and developed to integrate exhibition concepts into the art and general curriculum.

The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts is approved by the state of Pennsylvania to offer Act 48 credit. Each workshop earns 3 Pennsylvania continuing education hours.

As the arts address multiple intelligences, they provide a gateway for students to enter into academic subjects they might have otherwise found difficult. From Ecology to American History to Language Arts, learn about our many educational tours and how incorporating art into your curriculum is easier than you may think!

In PAFA's studios, try out and explore a variety of easy and inexpensive hands-on art activities related to different areas of the school curriculum. In the studios, participate in our interactive tour activities that help students to look at, discuss, analyze and reflect on a diversity of art objects. Art making will be followed by a discussion of strategies to tailor art to match different curriculuar needs.
