USArtists: American Fine Art Show Comes Home in 2010 to PAFA

 USArtists: American Fine Art show is moving from its 17-year venue at the 33rd Street Armory in Philadelphia to PAFA's Samuel M.V. Hamilton Building. Presented by the Women’s Board of PAFA, the 18th show and sale of over 5,000 works of art will be held Friday through Sunday, October 1-3, next year in 2010.

PAFA To Offer Free Sundays

In conjunction with the upcoming exhibition Barkley L. Hendricks: Birth of the Cool, PAFA presents “Free Sundays” which offer free admission to the museum galleries as well as specially planned public programs on each Sunday during the exhibition, which will take place October 17, 2009 – January 3, 2010.

PAFA Presents Pop Culture Icon Malcolm McLaren's Shallow 1-21 In Its Entirety for the First Time in the U.S.

Malcolm McLaren’s Shallow 1-21, an 86-minute video on DVD will be on view at PAFA  from October 24, 2009 – January 3, 2010. This will be the first time the video will be shown in its entirety in the United States.

Philagrafika 2010: The Graphic Unconscious

January 29 - April 11, 2010

PAFA is one of five venues presenting the exhibition The Graphic Unconscious in conjunction with Philagrafika 2010, Philadelphia’s international festival celebrating the print in contemporary art. Philagrafika 2010 will focus on artistic practices that engage the visual, intellectual, and creative frontiers in printmaking and how these approaches relate to social and political issues in the public sphere.

 

C. R. Ettinger Studio Selections from 2000 to 2010

January 29 - April 18, 2010

As part of the Philagrafika 2010 Festival this exhibition brings together collaborative works by twenty-five artists and Master Printer Cindi Royce Ettinger.

 

Public Treasures/Private Visions: Hudson River School Masterworks from the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Private Collections

In appreciation for a group of paintings that PAFA is lending next year, the Metropolitan Museum of Art is reciprocating with paintings from the Hudson River School.
