Senior Vice President of Development

As Senior Vice President of Development, Louisa Hanshew serves as the chief fundraising officer and is principally responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive annual and major gift fundraising strategy for the institution. Overseeing a staff of eight in the areas of the annual fund; major gifts; corporate, foundation, and government grants; facility sales; and alumni relations, she also works closely with the Board of Trustees and individual committees of the Board.
In 2009, Hanshew lead the campaign to raise funds for the newly established Donald R. Caldwell Scholarship, PAFA’s first competitive, full-tuition scholarship. In less than a year the program has raised $1 million in scholarship aid for our students. Additionally, Hanshew also recently procured a $2 million gift for the naming of the foyer in the Samuel M.V. Hamilton Building.
Hanshew’s 25 years of experience bring together the skills of major event planning, corporate sponsorship, and fundraising. Throughout her career, Hanshew has served as Acting Vice President of the Kimmel Center, Vice President of Development for the Devereaux Foundation, and President of her own consulting firm for over 10 years.
Hanshew has also been involved with the Association of Fund Raising Professionals, the American Marketing Association, the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education, and Who’s Who of American Women. She holds a B.S. in Marketing from Drexel University and is presently pursuing a Master’s degree.
