Senior Vice President of Finance and Operations

John Berg has more than thirty years of experience, including a seven-year tenure as Chief Financial Officer of The Baldwin School in Bryn Mawr, where he was responsible for directing financial planning and accounting practices as well as managing the school's relationships with lending institutions and the financial community. Berg also played a large role in the management of the school’s technology, maintenance, and use of facilities.
Prior to the Baldwin School, John held various positions in other schools and corporations including Director of Finance at Holy Ghost Preparatory School and President and Chief Executive Officer of American Industrial Systems Corporation. He has also worked for The Franklin Mint, Commodore Business Machines, and Scott Paper Company.
Berg holds a Bachelor of Sciences from Drexel University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a major in accounting. His education also includes numerous seminars, courses, and conferences sponsored by NAIS, ISM, PAISBOA, and ADVIS with respect to business office, maintenance, health care, and risk management issues.
Berg also serves on the Boards of a number of organizations that support education and private/independent school programs. He currently serves on the Board of the Philadelphia Area Independent Schools Insurance Group (PAISIG), which provides health insurance for over 100 schools and colleges, and is Treasurer of the Board of Directors of Steppingstone Scholars, Inc. He is a former member of the Commission on Accreditation of the Pennsylvania Association of Independent Schools.
