Anne Stassen

Dean of Student Affairs

As Dean of Student Affairs, Anne Stassen is responsible for managing the functions of the Registrar, Models and Properties, Graduate Office, and all Student Services (including health and psychological services referrals, career planning, academic advisement, orientation, student activities, student government and leadership, judicial affairs, exchange programs, and off-campus housing assistance), and serves as the liaison/advisor for the coordinated BFA program with the University of Pennsylvania.

Anne joined the Academy in 2000, bringing with her nearly 20 years of experience in higher education administration. Most recently, prior to her arrival at the Academy, she worked with the Freshman Dean at Harvard College, while conducting research toward her doctoral dissertation.  Her previous positions in higher education include a breadth of administrative experience in student affairs, admissions, academic advising, career planning, residence life, student activities, and facilities management.  Her work has been in large universities, graduate schools, and small liberal arts colleges.  Anne holds a BA in Psychology from Earlham College, and an EdM and EdD work in Higher Education Administration, Planning and Social Policy from Harvard University, where her area of research explores collaboration between student and academic affairs in colleges and universities.
