  • PAFA Announces New Board Leadership

    Philadelphia, PA – The trustees of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA) have announced that, after a dynamic and successful 15-year term, Donald R. Caldwell will step down as Chair of PAFA’s Board of Trustees on June 30, 2011, the end of the Academy’s fiscal year. He will be succeeded by PAFA Trustee and Vice-Chair and Treasurer Kevin F. Donohoe, who assumes the chairmanship on July 1, 2011. As Emeritus Chair, Mr. Caldwell will remain an active member of the Board, co-chairing Bacchanal 2011, Philadelphia’s premier wine and auction event that has raised over $3 million to help fund student scholarships and education programs at PAFA.

  • PAFA's Party on the Plaza to Open Lenfest Plaza, Saturday, October 1

    PHILADELPHIA — The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA) will celebrate the completion of its new civic space, Lenfest Plaza, with PAFA’s Party on the Plaza on Saturday, October 1, 2011. The celebration will culminate at sunset with the inaugural lighting of Paint Torch, a sculpture by world-renowned American artist Claes Oldenburg.

  • PAFA Hosts Walk for Lost Dreams on Saturday, June 4

    Philadelphia, PA — The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA) and its friends are once again hosting Walk for Peace: Walk for Lost Dreams, a one-mile walk through Center City, on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 2:00 p.m.

  • PAFA Alumni Sales Gallery's New Exhibition Opens April 29

    Philadelphia, PA – The new Alumni Sales Gallery at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA) presents Water As The Source, on view April 29 – July 23, 2011, a group exhibition of works by Eliza Auth, Pat Boyer, James Brantley, Joe Danciger, Fred Danziger, Joann Doneen, Carolyn Hesse, Whitney Knapp, Zach Martin, Peter Schnore and Robin Tedesco.

  • PAFA Faculty Member Awarded Guggenheim Fellowship

    Philadelphia, PA – The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA) is pleased to announce that graduate faculty member Katherine Bradford is the recipient of a 2011 Guggenheim Fellowship Award for Fine Arts.

    Philadelphia, PA – The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA) will present its highly anticipated and acclaimed Annual Student Exhibition (ASE), May 13 - June 5, 2011, in the Samuel M.V. Hamilton Building, 128 North Broad Street.

  • PAFA Holds Commencement Ceremonies Friday May 13

    Philadelphia, PA – The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA) will host commencement ceremonies on Friday, May 13, 2011 at 3 p.m. in the Rotunda of PAFA’s Historic Landmark Building (118 N. Broad Street).  PAFA will recognize 38 Certificate Program graduates, 16 BFA graduates, 2 BFA and Certificate program graduates, 23 Post-Baccalaureate graduates, and 42 MFA graduates.
